Sexual standards

  • Women’s sexual behaviour is judged differently from men’s sexual behaviour.

Emotional standards

  • i.e. The belief that women are 'too emotional' to be good leaders.

Gender roles

  • i.e. the belief that a woman’s main purpose is to be a mother.
Victim blaming in the context of assault
  • I.e. If she wasn’t so drunk, he wouldn’t have raped her
  • I.e. she shouldn’t have led him on.
